Following the threat of legal action, Oxfordshire County Council have decided that they will withdraw their trans toolkit and withdraw from the proposed judicial review.

We’re proud to have supported the teenage girl who was prepared to stand up and speak out against a document which disregarded her rights and failed to safeguard her in school.

We welcome the fact that this damaging document will no longer be promoted by OCC. However, we are aware that this toolkit, or versions of it, is still in use in many other local authorities. We do not feel that Oxfordshire County Council’s statement reflects an awareness of the safeguarding concerns that were raised by the legal action:

We call upon the government to step in to investigate the issue of lobby groups being allowed to provide schools with advice, training and toolkits which contain incorrect information on single sex protections and encourage transition.
